HOW TO MAKE THE ULTIMATE HOT CHOCOLATE THIS WINTER

Once you try this epic hot chocolate recipe you’ll never look at that jar of instant hot chocolate the same way again. It is thick, doubly chocolaty and just what you need this winter.

Garnish with whipped cream or marshmallows or enjoy deliciously plain.

Serves 2

INGREDIENTS

2 Cups milk (can be substituted with soya or almond milk if you prefer)

2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (try raw organic cocao for a more natural cup)

60g Dark or bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped (you can use chocolate chips)

2 Tbsp powdered sugar

2 Tsp cornstarch, sifted

1/2 tsp vanilla or vanilla paste

INSTRUCTIONS

Put all the ingredients in a saucepan and heat on medium, stirring or whisking constantly until it just comes to a simmer and thickens.

Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream or marshmallows, take a deep breath and enjoy.
